Start your ceramics journey right here! I will help you learn to make wheel-thrown pottery by walking you through each step and explaining why we do what we do. Once you have the skills to use the wheel, you can confidently execute your creative ideas.

CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING BOOKING OPTIONS:

All clay, tools, and firing fees are included in lesson pricing. Glaze may be an additional charge for multi-lesson students.

• 2-Hour Introduction to Wheel-Thrown Pottery | $130

  • Learn the basic wheel throwing skills—centering, opening, and pulling your clay—as you create your own ceramic cylinder.

• Extended Introduction to Wheel-Thrown Pottery (four sessions, 2 hours each) | $460 (12% discount)

  • Tackle the full process from start to finish. A typical four-session booking includes two throwing lessons, one trimming lesson, and one glaze lesson.

    • If you are interested in a different format or specific skill development, please let me know in your inquiry message!

  • More than one extended lesson can be purchased at once, e.g. book eight private lessons for $920. 

  • All lesson dates must be scheduled in full at the time of booking.

Please allow 2-3 weeks for projects to be completed. Participants will need to retrieve their pieces from my studio in West Oakland. Home delivery available for an additional fee of $35.

Learn to create hand-built ceramics at my West Oakland studio or in the comfort of your own home! Choose from three clay slab projects—planter, wall vase, or set of four coasters—for up to eight participants.

I will guide you through each step, explaining ceramics techniques and concepts along the way. 

CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING BOOKING OPTIONS:

All clay, tools, glaze, and firing fees are included. 

PLEASE NOTE: In-studio handbuilding workshops can not exceed 6 participants.

• 2-Hour handbuilding lesson | 1-4 people: $130/person; 5-8 people: $100/person

• • PLANTER

    • Using one of two templates, create a handmade barrel planter. Decorate with carvings or added clay. Choose to finish with glaze or leave your piece bare.

  • WALL VASE

    • Choose from one of three templates to create a hanging wall vase. Add optional carvings and textures to decorate your piece before selecting your final glaze color.

  • COASTERS

    • Choose from a square or circle template to create a set of four coasters. Decorate using underglaze. You pieces will be finished with clear glossy glaze and rubber feet.

Want a bite-sized taste of wheel throwing? Try a Mini Wheel Lesson.

Mini Wheel Lessons can be done anywhere with access to an outlet — an office, a studio, or at home. I will provide everything needed to keep your space clean and clay-free.

CHOOSE FROM THE FOLLOWING BOOKING OPTIONS:

All clay, tools, and firing fees are included in lesson pricing. Glaze may be an additional charge.

• One-on-one one-time lesson | $130

• Two-person one-time lesson | $200

  • Learn how to make tiny things on a small but mighty electric wheel.
    

FOR IN-HOME LESSONS: Participants will be asked to provide the following:

• A table; a canvas drop cloth will be used to protect the surface).

• Access to an outlet

• Access to water; clay water will be removed following the lesson and will not be disposed of in your home
